World Cultures Project and MUSEUM!

The entire 6th grade will be participating in the World Cultures Project and Museum. Students will be researching countries around the world and then present their cultures on a tri-fold project board to a Museum of Cultures on January 14th.  The timeline, rubric, and important dates are listed in the link located on the right toolbar. ------------>

"Did you know..." template starter.

Here is the TAKE 5 (5 themes of geography) template.

Here is a SAMPLE ANSWER we are looking for you to write for a response.

Thinking about your project, instead of a poster, how about a video? Are you creative with digital film editing? Although you may not have visited your researched country, here are some ideas and resources:

Click on this link and search for your country for videos (you may need to scroll through the list of episodes:

If your country is in Europe, try one of these from Rick Steves: https://www.ricksteves.com/watch-read-listen/video/tv-show

To make your own video, using something like Google Slides or PowerPoint, please see this tutorial on how to use Screen-Cast-O-Matic: https://youtu.be/jADJ_OoSnm8

This first video Miss K made using photos taken on a trip and then set to music. There is no CONTENT (you should add content about your country if you decide to do something similar), but this was quickly assembled during a train ride through Hungary and set to a remix of music by Mozart. THIS IS A VIDEO OF WHAT NOT TO DO...

However, these videos are produced by the countries to encourage people to visit! What were good ways of getting your attention?

Again, Miss K made this video but it also has no content. It is a series of photos set to music. YOUR video should have content from your research. ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF WHAT NOT TO DO...

Compelling Questions:
* How does where a person lives affect how they live?
* How do people impact where they live?
